Kisii County youths have dragged President Uhuru Kenyatta into the alleged rogue census recruitment.
Led by Zach Oanda, they claimed Uhuru Kenyatta's government has failed to honor the promises made on employment.
Oanda accused civil servants from the region, arguing that they are the beneficiary of the census jobs despite having permanent and we'll renumerated jobs.
“It is unfortunate that civil servants among them teachers have been recruited to conduct the census exercise while graduate jobless youths were locked out.
"As youths from Kisii County we are blaming President Kenyatta for failing to honour his promise that he will create jobs for youths," decried Oanda on Monday when addressing the press in Kisii town.
Another youth Willis Obegi, protested that among the people recruited in the census exercise are from rich families.
“We are calling for fresh recruitment to be done since the process was marred with irregularities. The Jubilee government is giving us youths a raw deal in matters job creation," stated Obegi.
Vincent Gekone slammed local chiefs for awarding the census jobs to relatives and close friends instead of well deserving youths.
Kisii County Commissioner Godfrey Kigochi said that the matter will be probed and administrators behind the alleged irregular recruitment will be sent home.
"Youths should remain calm to allow investigations to be done to ascertain the truth of the matter," noted Kigochi.
