Addressing media on Thursday outside the office, the residents claimed their administrator has become slippery and has never been in the office.

“I came here yesterday and found nobody, am here today and the office is locked. I reported this to the area assistant chief but he told me this is not his docket,” said Peter Ombaka, a resident.

A number of them said their ward admin has denied them access to opportunities including getting bursaries and contracts given by the Kisumu County government.

They are now calling upon Kisumu county governor Peter Anyang Nyong’o to intervene.

“I have been coming here daily from Kisian which is not easy. I was here yesterday and told to return today but I am shocked the office is locked throughout the day,” a resident from Kisian claimed.

In an exclusive interview with the newly elected Bursary and Scholarship chairman Lawrence Juma, he claimed the ward admin only pops up in the office anytime he wants and stays for 10 minutes, at most, before locking the office.

“We’ve been having problems with ward admin. He comes for only 10 minutes, he advised his secretary not to be in the office, which made us seek intervention from county governor of Kisumu,” said Juma.

When Hivisasa tried to contact the Ward Admin Luke Agango through a phone call, he directed us to his boss Samuel Oron, a Kisumu Sub County Administrator.

According to Oron, he gave Agango two days off after he had notified him that his life was in danger.

“The ward admin felt his life was threatened so he reported to me and that is why I gave him two days off,” said Oron.

When asked whether the accused Ward Admin had reported the matter to the police, the Sub County Administrator said he was not sure since he had not received any information from the said officer despite advising him to do so.
