Speaking with Nigel Farage, the leader of the UK Independence Party, President Trump criticised the deal, saying that it would make it difficult for the US and the UK to strike a trade deal.

"We want to do trade with the UK and they want to do trade with us. And to be honest with you, this deal, under certain aspects of the deal, you can't do it, " the US president said.

In spite of his criticism of the Johnson Brexit deal, the US president backed the candidature of the UK prime minister, saying that the opposition leader Jeremy Corbyn would by bad for the UK.

Jeremy Corbyn fired back accusing the US president of interfering with the UK election so as to bolster the prospects of Boris Johnson.

He urged Nigel Farage to join forces with Boris Johnson so that they could together change the country.

The United Kingdom parliament voted to allow a snap general election to be held in December this year.

Boris Johnson had implored the country's legislature to agree to an early election so that the people could have a say in the direction that the UK should take amid the Brexit confusion.
