Embattled Kenya National Union of Teachers secretary-general Wilson Sossion has been handed a reprieve after the Labour Court on Tuesday ruled his favour.
The court has ordered that Sossion will remain in office until the case against him is heard and determined.
Sossion, an ODM nominated MP, had been removed from office. The ouster was staged by his rivals led by his deputy Hesbon Otieno.
The Employment and Labour Relations Court Justice Hellen Wasilwa has ordered that the Knut National Executive Council (NEC) meeting, which led to the ouster of the KNUT boss was conducted against the law.
Sossion argued that his firm stand on matters affecting the union is among the reasons he was kicked out of office.
The Knut boss said that external forces are being used to fight him. He has since insisted that he has not been fighting President Uhuru Kenyatta through debate on Competence Based Curriculum (CBC).
“For them Knut must be a yes union with no bargaining power. Strike the shepherd and scatter the sheep then feast on them one by one,” Mr Sossion said, as quoted by Daily Nation.
Sossion has maintained that he will remain in office amid pressure from his rivals.
