Former Chief Justice Willy Mutunga on Tuesday added his voice on Kenya Films Classification Board (KFCB) boss Ezekiel Mutua's move to restrict popular local hit Wamlambez and Tanzanian hit Tetema to playing only in bars and clubs.
In a tweet, Mr Mutunga urged Mutua to stop interfering with the youths type of music.
“Let the youth continue playing! You keep playing to wist and Kung Fu! (Wacha vijana wacheze bwana! Wewe endelea kucheza Twist na Kung Fu!)," said Mr Mutunga.
His comments come some minutes after the KFCB boss announced through his Facebook account the restriction on the two music.
He noted that the two songs are not suitable for public consumption as they contain dirty and “pure pornography" lyrics.
"Tetema and Wamlambez songs are strictly forbidden outside of clubs and bars. It's embarrassing to see even national leaders singing and dancing to the obscenity in public," wrote Mutua.
"The lyrics are dirty and not suitable for public consumption, especially mixed company or where children are likely to be watching or listening. Both songs are pure pornography," he added.
Wamlambez was produced by Kenyan upcoming artists dabbed the Sailors, while Tetema hit was produced by Tanzanian stars Diamond Platnumz and his fellow artist Rayvanny.
The two songs have been hits in the country.
