A 17 year -old -boy has been arrested in Eldoret town with fake dollars and Congolese francs. The suspect was arrested at a bureau when he was trying to exchange the money.
Confirming the arrest, Eldoret East OCPD Smollet Munyanzi said the suspect is under police custody.
He said that the suspect will be arraigned in court once investigations are complete. “We arrested the suspect as he tried to exchange the money at a local bank,” said Munyanzi.
The OCPD has since urged members of the public to be wary of people circulating fake money in Eldoret town.
He added that they have information of people allegedly printing and circulating fake money saying it is a matter of time before they will be nabbed.
Mr Munyanzi at the same time cautioned teenagers against being used to conduct crime. He said that the law will not favour anyone.
The OCPD asked parents to take charge of their children’s activities especially this festive season.
