As the world joins hand to commemorate World Aids day on 1st December a report by National Aids Control Council has revealed the number of Nairobians infected by HIV.The report showed that 171,510 Nairobi citizens are living with HIV with 8,653 of them being aged below 15 years.Speaking during the launch of Nairobi county HIV strategic plan, county health executive Benard Muia said the county is also facing a challenge with the commercial sexual workers upsurge in the city.According to the report, there are many factors that propelled the increase of HIV infection in Nairobi.Some of those factors include urbanisation, stigma and discrimination and high levels of poverty.
