Former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo has asked Kenyans to read the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) before opposing or supporting the same.
In a tweet, Kabogo questioned why some leaders have already declared their stance on the matter even before reading the report. He said that it is until Kenyans read the report is when they can discuss the same in public events. Kabogo said that it is unfortunate that some leaders have already taken sides when they know nothing about the report in question.
"#BBIReport How do you or don’t support something you’ve not seen and or read...Foolishness," he tweeted.
President Uhuru has also pleaded with Kenyans to read the report carefully before they can make an informed decision over the same. He reminded leaders not to engage in sideshows at the expense of development. He was speaking during the fourth Graduation of Kibabii University, Bungoma County on Friday.
“There are some characters who poke holes into the report yet they are not privy to what is contained inside,” he said.
The BBI task force is set to present the report to Uhuru and Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga on Tuesday. The two leaders will later make the report available to the general public to allow for the debating on the same.
