Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho on Wednesday hosted officials from the Embassy of the United States at his office.
The county boss said that he was grateful after a fruitful meeting with the officials as he seeks to transform the economy of Mombasa before the end of his second term in office.
The delegation from the US embassy was led by First Secretary Political Affairs Mr John Armiger.
“It was a pleasure to host officials from the United States Embassy led by Mr John Armiger, the First Secretary Political Affairs and Mr Judd Devermont, the Director Center for Strategic and International Studies, who paid a courtesy call to my office,” he said.
Joho revealed that they discussed a wide range of issues including governance and transfer of skill and knowledge. He also revealed that they discussed ways to improve the trade ties between the US government and the coastal county.
“Our discussions centered on matters of governance, knowledge and skills transfer, as well as strengthening trade ties between the United States of America and the Port City of Mombasa,” he added.
