The vocal Bahati legislator Kimani Ngujiri on January 20, 2020, while addressing the press at a hotel in Nakuru claimed that Deputy President William Ruto convoy of cars was withdrawn by the state.

He said that the DP has been forced to operate with his own old cars despite being the second powerful man in the country.

He alleged that the withdrawn convoy is currently being used by those pushing for Building Bridges Initiative (BBI).

"Look at the DP, all his convoy has been taken and given to those that push the implementation of BBI by force," Ngujiri stated.

He told off leaders for prioritising BBI more than the issues that affect Kenyans like insecurity, diseases and famine.

"Teachers are being killed in North Eastern, people are dying of famine, nobody is addressing that," the legislator said.

He argued that the BBI has divided Kenyans more than its aim of uniting them.

He called for the unity of Kenyans and criticised politicians, especially Atwoli whom he accused of politicking along tribal lines.

The MP who was summoned by DCI to surrender his guns claimed that the move was suspicious and unfair since he has never committed any crime since he started having them in 1992.
