The DP has been under pressure to resign lately, from those of the idea that he is undermining his boss and President Uhuru Kenyatta by openly challenging Uhuru's decisions.

But the commentator says that the DP is very unlikely to give in to the pressure, due to the troubles that await him once he exits his position.

Speaking on Radio Maisha on Monday, he observed that a resignation will make it even harder for the DP to realize his 2022 presidential bid, given that he will lose those who have been endorsing his ambition.

"Resigning will be even worse as his funds will dwindle and friends will abandon him. Already, the people who have been accompanying him are reducing (Akijiuzulu ni mbaya zaidi kwa sababu pesa zitaisha na marafiki watamtoroka. Tayari wale watu waliokiwa wanamfuata katika shuguli sake wanapungua)," he said.

He suggested that with no money coming in from the government, the DP will have it hard funding his trips and financing his delegations, as well as raising the money he has been dishing out at fundraisers from his own pockets.

He also opined that the DP will not be willing to lose the state privileges he is currently enjoying, including the state security.

"For now he is using government planes and security. All this will be gone. (Kwa sasa antumia ndege na ulinzi wa serikali, akijiuzulu hivi vitakuwa vimeisha)," he added.

As per the current constitution, the president cannot sack his deputy, given that they came to power in a joint ticket.

Though yet to directly lash out at the DP, Uhuru has repeatedly bashed the DP's allies for engaging in unending politicking and sabotaging his push for constitutional changes.
