Dagoretti North MP Simba Arati has asked the Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) George Kinoti to arrest Deputy President William Ruto over alleged bribery of voters.
Arati on Sunday accused DP Ruto of bribing Kibra voters in the recently-concluded by-election
"Today, I want to tell the DCI and DPP that the first person they should arrest is Deputy President William Ruto. We are aware of that he bribed people at Karen home with the hope of winning Kibra by-election. We all know his salary and he must come clean and tell us the source of the money," he posted.
Arati spoke amid calls by politicians from the ruling Jubilee coalition to arrest Arati who is alleged to have engineered chaos unleashed on Jubilee honchos in Kibra during the by-election last week on Thursday.
Former Kakamega Senator Dr Boni Khalwale and Kimilili MP Didimus Barasa were stoned in Kibra.
However, in an interview with the Standard, Arati denied engineering the violence.
“It is wrong for people and even you the media to report that I unleashed youths on Barasa. It is me who saved him," he said.
