According to ICTCabinet Secretary Joe Mucheru, the new move will ensure that the movie makers find it easy conducting their business in the country.

He also said that the increased shooting of movies in the country will not only create jobs for the youths but also promote the generation of revenue.

Mucheru made the remarks when he attended the five-day Indian film festival on Wednesday following an invitation from the event organizers.

In the past, foreign movie makers have been lamenting about the rigid legal structures in regard to the issuance of permits.

Mucheru, however, assured them that the government is ready to protect their business as they seek to thrive in their areas of specialization once they establish firms in the country.

“Any films you want to do, through the film commission we are ready to create that single window so that we can get all the other government agencies whether revenue authority or working with counties to make sure you have a single permit that allows you to come and freely film,” said the CS, as quoted by Capital FM.

Kenya Film Commission (KFC) CEO Timothy Owase reiterated Mucheru’s remarks saying the government has good plans for all films makers including those from the international market.
