Radio Maisha presenter Ali Hassan Kauleni, popularly known as Hassan Mwana wa Ali has landed a role at the Football Kenya Federation (FKF).
Kauleni has been appointed a member of the FKF election’s board, set to preside over FKF’s repeat elections.
On Tuesday, January 28, 2019, FKF held a special general meeting, where Ali Hassan’s name and those of four other members were unanimously endorsed by the members present.
According to FKF, 80 delegates attended the meeting, among them representatives from the 48 FKF branches across the country, as well as the Kenya Premier League (KPL), National Super League (NSL), Division One League, and representative of the FKF Women Premier League (WPL).
“Members present voted to pass the Board, comprised of Kentice Tikolo, Patrick Mathew Onyango, Ali Hassan Kauleni, Alfred Ndinya and Samuel Karanja,” reads a section of the report on FKF’s website.
Last year, the Sports Disputes Tribunal (SDT) cancelled FKF elections indicating that the previous election’s board was not properly constituted.
"An order that Football Kenya Federation Presidential elections to be held on 7th December 2019 is hereby cancelled," ruled SDT chairman John Ohaga.
At the time of cancellation in early December, FKF had already conducted branch elections, and what was remaining was the national elections.
The new board now has to plan and conduct FKF elections by March this year.
