Machakos governor Dr Alfred Mutua has urged Kalonzo Musyoka to hand over the baton of Ukambani leadership to another leader.

Speaking on the 'Pointblank' television program on Wednesday night aired on the Kenya Television Network, the county boss said that the Wiper Party leader had dismally failed to improve the lot of the people of Ukambani.

He contended that the former vice president had used his plum positions in government to benefit himself.

"We have to understand that Kalonzo Musyoka has really not done much for our. As it is right now, the needs of our people are such that his style of leadership is off the track, " the Machakos governor said. (1:02-1:19)

Governor Dr Alfred Mutua has said that he will gun for the presidency in 2022.

In order to put himself in a strong position come the next general elections, he has been jostling for the position of the Ukambani kingpin that is said to be held by Kalonzo Musyoka.

Dr Mutua resigned from Wiper in the lead-up to the 2017 election and formed his own Maendeleo Chap Chap party through which he sought reelection in the Machakos gubernatorial race.

Since then, he has been at war with Kalonzo Musyoka who have accused him of undermining the Wiper leader's influence.
