Suna East Member of Parliament Junet Mohamed has endorsed President Uhuru Kenyatta's remarks on need to embrace decency in politics.
Uhuru on Thursday cautioned against politics of dynasties versus hustlers, saying they will not get anybody to power.
"Leadership is not about where you were born, it is not about where you came from, it is not about the colour of your skin, it is not about your tribe. It is just about a desire to serve, a desire to do good, a desire to make a difference in the lives of people, and anybody can do that," said the Head of State.
He spoke at the Holy Family Basilica in Nairobi during the commemoration of the 41st anniversary since the death of his father and Kenya’s founding President Mzee Jomo Kenyatta.
Reacting to the sentiments, Junet backed Uhuru's remarks adding that the president did not care about dynasties, and therefore the talk about the same should come to an end.
"H.E Pres. Uhuru Kenyatta commits once again to a future where every Kenyan has a fair shot. Hii mambo ya dynasties sasa iishe (These stories about dynasties should now stop). By the way if H.E cared much about dynasties would he have picked a runningmate/deputy who says he’s a pauper/hustler?"Junet tweeted.
A section of politicians allied to Ruto have branded themselves as 'Hustler Nation' and have repeatedly said they were ready to take on dynasties in the 2022 general election.
This is amid reports that Uhuru and other political bigwigs who include Raila Odinga (ODM), Kalonzo Musyoka (Wiper), Musalia Mudavadi (ANC) and Gideon Moi were planning to form a super alliance ahead of the next election.
Uhuru, Raila, Mudavadi and Moi are sons of former powerful politicians and their families have mostly been referred as political dynasties.
