The Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) task force has concluded its report writing mission, and is doing the final touches on the document, one of the task force members has said.
The team was picked jointly by President Uhuru Kenyatta and former Premier Raila Odinga after their 2018 truce, to gather Kenyans' views and propose the best way forward for the country.
Speaking to the Nation, BBI task force Vice Chair Adams Oloo said the report will soon be handed over to the two leaders.
"Right now, as we speak, we are still on a retreat doing final touches on the report. We are going through the cleaning process," he told the Nation on Tuesday.
About the objections and tough questions emanating from Deputy President William Ruto's team, he said the taskforce is not concerned about such remarks.
He said the BBI team remains committed to delivering according to the responsibility placed before it, and will not be distracted by comments made outside the issues placed before it.
"He (Ruto) is a politician and we are not getting involved in what politicians are saying outside issues that were presented before us," he added.
Once the report is out, it will be the responsibility of Uhuru and Raila to popularise the outcome, with Raila having already predicted that it will propose constitutional changes through a referendum.
