Former Nominated Member of Parliament Amina Abdalla was on Wednesday afternoon approved by the National Assembly to represent the Parliamentary Service Commission at the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC).
With a colourful CV and vast work experience, Abdalla emerged the best of all the 66 applicants and six shortlisted candidates with 88.55 per cent.
Andrew Toboso came second with 72.15 per cent while Michael Arungo came third with 61%.
In an event broadcasted live via Public Broadcasting Unit (PBU), Members of Parliament showered a heap of praises on Amina Abdalla.
The chair of the Finance and Planning Committee Joseph Limo who vetted the nominee said that she is the best fit for the job as she's aware of the challenges the MPs face when it comes to salaries as she was among those who suffered salary cuts by SRC.
"We believed in her because she has worked with the parliament for 15 years hence has this house ' interests at heart," said Limo.
"She is a masters graduate of colonel University in the USA and Bachelor of Science graduate of Egerton University. She has 25-year work experience in different roles thus fit for the position," he added.
The MPs accepted Amina Abdalla's nomination unanimously and encouraged her to build a good relationship between the SRC and parliament which has been having bad blood.
