While speaking during a press conference on Wednesday at Serena Hotel, the lawmakers led by South Mugirango MP Sylvanus Osoro claimed that the CS is using his position to shield corrupt officials in the region.

"It is very discouraging to see that as our people continue to lack basic services and with uncleared bills for the tenders because of misuse of public funds, CS Matiang'i continues to protect such officers he is to deal with," said Osoro as quoted by Taifa Leo.

The legislators who blamed Dr Matiang'i for allegedly playing politics, dared him to quit his job and join the game.

" If Matiang'i feels like he has failed to execute his mandate as state officer, then he should quit that position and join politics. For now, he should continue performing his job to fight graft as per the President's instructions," Osoro added.

Others who attended the presser include Nominated Senator Milicent Omanga, Bomachoge Chache MP Alfah Miruka.

Dr Matiang'i has been on the receiving end from politicians allied to Deputy President William Ruto over  the past few days for allegedly being political partisan.
