A gas explosion around the Machakos County Bus, Kamukunji area in Nairobi has left at least 14 people injured.
According to Kahawatungu, the explosion happened at a fast-food restaurant called the Classio Hotel.
Those injured were rushed to Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH).
St John Ambulance arrived at the scene of the incident and helped the victims. They noted that 14 people who were injured were taken to the hospital.
“At least 14 people have been injured including a minor after a gas cylinder exploded at a fast food joint in Kamukunji,” St Johns Ambulance tweeted.
The St Johns Ambulance team was joined by the County Disaster Unit who helped those injured to receive medical attention as fast as possible.
However, the cause of the gas explosion has not been revealed.
This is not the first time a gas explosion has injured people in Nairobi. In June this year, another gas explosion was reported near Afya Center at a guest house.
The gas explosion left three dead after they were burnt beyond recognition.
People have been argued to be careful when handling gas cylinders.
The government recently came up with regulations that sought to ensure Kenyans purchase or refill the cylinders only them from authorized dealers.
