Jubilee Nominated Senator Falhada Dekow Iman has slammed Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho after he endorsed the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI).
In a video he posted on his Twitter account on Thursday, Joho asked Kenyans to rally behind the much anticipated BBI report which he said will bring peace and unity among citizens.
However, in a rejoinder, Falhada said Joho should not be in the forefront speaking about peace because his party Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), where he is deputy party leader, 'was full of violence'.
In a tweet on Friday, the vocal senator said it is only Kenyans who will ensure they live in peace and not the BBI report, which is yet to be handed over to President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga.
"Your party is full of violence and yet call BBI the way of fostering unity and achieving peace?? Huh!! Spare us Mr Joho!! Peace should come from us not writing in a piece of paper!" Falhada posted.
Joho had said the BBI, which was formed following the March 9, 2018 handshake between Uhuru and Raila, was the way to go in making Kenya a peaceful and an all-inclusive country.
"Building Bridges Initiative(BBI), is a way of fostering unity and achieving peace and cohesion in our country. I believe this noble initiative will be one of the surest ways of building a prosperous Kenya," he said.
Joho and his Taita Taveta counterpart Granton Samboja met on Thursday and vowed to lead campaigns for the BBI in the coastal region.
