Speaking on Wednesday, the lawmaker bashed Raila for being stingy despite having enough resources, adding that he has demonstrated the same throughout his political career.

Mburu portrayed the former Prime Minister as a man who feels pain giving even the lowest amounts of money to charitable initiatives, which he said contradicts his leadership status.

According to the MP, Raila has accumulated enough wealth so far and can donate up to one million shillings daily without going bankrupt, but remains unwilling to offer a helping hand.

"Ni lini umesikia Baba ametoa hata shilingi kumi amemepea mtu? Baba yuko worth millions, anaweza toa hata one million kwa siku lakini shida ni kutokuwa na roho ya kutoa. (When did you hear Raila giving even Sh10 to someone? He is worth millions and can even give one million daily, however, he lacks a giving heart)," Mburu said during an interview on Radio Jambo's 'Mazungumzo Waziwazi' show on Wednesday night.

He termed this as the reason behind the opposition boss' bitterness with Deputy President William Ruto who is on the other hand known for his generosity.

The Jubilee MP also argued that generosity has since ranked DP Ruto ahead of Raila with regards to their possible presidential faceoff in the 2022 polls, hence the ODM leader's sudden activeness.

He opined the Odinga's latest actions, including his tours of Western Kenya and Elgeyo Marakwet county over the weekend, are out of panic due to Ruto's growing influence across the country.

"Baba ameona ameanza kuchelewa na ndio sasa ameamka ameanza kutembea. (Raila has realized that he is running late, and has woken up and started taking tours)," Mburu noted.

Raila has also been in the front line in questioning the sources to Ruto's monies and has also advised churches to scrutinize politicians before accepting his contributions.
