Kenya National Union of Teachers (Knut) Executive Secretary Joe Mungai has torn into Secretary General Wilson Sossion days after his suspension.
Sossion was on Friday temporarily kicked out over allegations of misconduct, and his position handed over to his deputy Hesbone Otieno, in an announcement made on Friday.
Addressing the same on Monday, Mungai added that apart from appearing vicious and vocal on teachers issues, the nominated MP has not made any achievements in his tenure.
He claimed that rather, Sossion has only been making noise and threatening the government but has no achievement to his name in favour of the teachers under the trade union.
"Sossion is very good at speaking but with no actions. That's why we have said we are tired (Sossion katika kuongea yeye ni simba, lakini matendo hamna na ndio maana tumesema tumechoka)," he said on Radio Maisha on Monday morning.
He further took issue with his vows to remain put during a press conference in Parliament on Thursday, where he swore that only the union delegates can kick him out.
Mungai claimed that the SG is a power-drunk man who went to the union not to serve teachers but to benefit himself, hence his refusal to peacefully exit the slot.
"The people saying he won't exit is there in pursuit of benefits, they are there for business and it is only one person; Sossion (Wanaosema hawatoki wameenda pale kutafta hali, wameenda biashara. Na ni mtu mmoja tu; Sossion)," he added.
However, the Labour Relations Court on Monday reinstated Sossion pending the hearing of a petition challenging his ouster.
