The forum is the first to be held since the report was submitted to President Uhuru Kenyatta in November last year.

Ideally, the forum brings together leaders from the former Nyanza region which comprises of six counties.

Governors James Ongwae, John Nyagarama, Peter Nyong'o, Amoth Rasanga, Okoth Obado and Cyprian Awiti are the hosts. They all arrived on time.

All MPs, Senators and Woman Representatives from Nyanza were in attendance apart from Joash Nyamoko, Shadrack Mose, Sylvanus Osoro and Kisii Deputy Governor Joash Maangi.

The absent team supports Deputy President William Ruto and had faulted the meeting arguing that it's a waste of taxpayers' money.

Visiting leaders included former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, who is also the Chief guest, Governors Charity Ngilu, Hassan Joho, Ann Waiguru and Amason Kingi.

Making a special appearance in the BBI session were Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang'i and his Devolution counterpart Eugene Wamalwa.

The session was divided into two; expert session and the general session. Both were moderated by MPs Richard Onyonka and Junet Mohamed.

After the closed-door session at Sports Club, the leaders also held a rally at Gusii stadium where they endorsed the BBI report.

Earlier, Senator James Orengo urged Kenyans to take the sessions seriously, adding that it will help shape the discourse in the country's future.
