Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga has said the changes being pushed by President Uhuru Kenyatta and him, are not meant to benefit certain individuals.
For months now, the two have been championing for Building Bridges Initiative, which is set to among others, recommend radical changes through a referendum.
At Bukhungu stadium on Saturday, Odinga faulted opponents of the BBI report, arguing that it must be refined to put in order the country's needs.
The changes, Raila said, may not after all benefit him and the president, adding that they may not necessarily reach the mountain top.
“Uhuru and I may necessarily not be there when Kenyans get to the mountain-top," said the ODM leader.
There have been claims that the project is being used as a 2022 campaign tool by the two leaders, a claim Odinga denies.
He hailed the handshake with Uhuru, adding that it has put Kenya in the world map in terms of respect and integration.
“The gesture has been acknowledged world over. In fact, I have been invited together with President Kenyatta to the US between February 4 and 5 to speak about the handshake,” said the ODM leader.
