At least three people have been admitted at the Kangundo Level Four Hospital after being diagnosed with cholera.
The hospital's superintendent Dr Daniel Katua on Thursday noted that a young child is among the patients receiving treatment at the facility.
Dr Katua told journalists that the patients who hail from other areas are well taken care of.
He confirmed that no person has died from the ailment and urged residents to ensure they drink boiled water and wash their hands before handling food to avoid the spread of the disease.
"Yes it's true and the people are receiving treatment at Kangundo Level Four Hospital. No one has died from the disease they are all stable," said Katua.
Kangundo Level Four Hospital has been experiencing water problems after the Matungulu Kangundo Water and Sewerage Company (MAKAWASCO) disconnected their water.
The hospital has been depending on water boozers for the supply of the commodity.
Early this month the health department in Machakos County closed over 50 eating joints for failing to maintain the required standards of cleanliness.
The chief officer for public health in Machakos County Dr Lucas Mwove said that most of the hotels lacked toilets and proper uniform for their staff.
