ODM Director of Communications Philip Etale now claims Deputy President William Ruto is behind the woes facing Nairobi County Assembly Speaker Beatrice Elachi.
The beleaguered assembly boss resumed her duties recently after she was impeached by Ward Representatives 13 months ago.
Last week, there was another attempt by a section of Members of County Assembly (MCAs) to evict her again, but she was saved after ODM Ward Representatives stood with her.
Etale claims Ruto is sponsoring Elachi's ouster as part of his war against members of the Luhya community occupying senior positions of leadership.
"The financier of all this is none other than the man who says he loves the Luhya people, one William Samoei Arap Ruto. He is not only fighting a woman in the name of Beatrice Elachi but fighting a LUHYA Leader and by-extension the LUHYA people. He has poured out money to ensure Elachi (LUHYA) is out of that office," he posted on Facebook, Sunday.
Etale accused the DP of pretending he means well to the Luhya community but was secretly fighting its members in influential political seats.
"On the one hand, he pretends to be good to the community and on the other hand he is vehemently and with all the wealth, fighting a woman who is also a Luhya," he said.
"Fighting Beatrice Elachi is fighting the whole community of the MULEMBE NATION.…The people of MULEMBE are not FOOLS and neither will they be FOOLISH. They can not be hoodwinked with some pieces of silver. They know what they want," the ODM Director of Communications added.
