Addressing journalists on Wednesday, Ndambuki said the road has been a hotbed of accidents due to lack of signs and bumps.

Vehicles have reportedly been speeding, and thus knocking down passengers crossing the road.

"A working government must protect the lives and  property of its citizens.

"My attention has been caught by the lack of road signs at the Mumbuni-Kathiani road. I would like to urge Kenya National Highway Authority to ensure bumps and signs are put on the road," he said.

He recalled an accident that left scores injured last week, adding that many accidents along that road could be avoided.

"The bumps should be erected in Mumbuni, Kwakimeu, Kathalani, Kwakonzi, among other areas. Last week over ten people were injured after their vehicle rolled. I believe we can avoid many accidents if the measures are put in place," said Ndambuki.
