The first woman to be elected MP in the greater North Eastern Kenya thanked President Uhuru for giving Hubbie and other Somali women an opportunity to serve the public.
She hailed the nomination as an indication that the country was moving in the direction of including women in public service positions
"Hearty congratulations to my sister and good friend Hubbie Hussein Al-Hajj for her nomination as a member of the National Lands Commission. Hubbie's track record speaks for itself and we are all sure she will deliver on her mandate as she has done over the years while holding different positions."
"I further thank His Excellency the President UHURU KENYATTA for giving our sisters Hubbie, Tiya Galgalo and all the other women nominated for this opportunity. It is a clear indication of inclusivity and we are headed towards the right way as a country in achieving the 2/3rd gender rule, " her post read.
