President Uhuru Kenyatta will not leave behind a legacy unless he deals with the infighting in Jubilee, lawyer Donald Kipkorir has opined.
In a tweet on Tuesday, Lawyer Kipkorir argued that the division in the Jubilee Party will make it hard for the Head of State to achieve his agenda before the end of his second term in office.
The lawyer opined that Uhuru must do something as soon as possible or else he is bound to fail in his leadership. Kipkorir argued that the cracks within the ruling party will affect its legacy, adding that time has come for President Uhuru to act.
He made the remarks in reference to the scuffle between Kiharu Member of Parliament Ndindi Nyoro and nominated MP Maina Kamanda in Murang’a.
The lawyer argued that US President Donald Trump has upcoming elections but he has tamed disloyalty in his administration, adding that UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson has also kicked out 21 MPs despite having a fast-approaching election.
"Donald Trump has elections next year but hasn’t stopped him reining in disloyalty. Boris Johnson has a date with destiny next month but hasn’t stopped him expelling 21 MPs from his party. Uhuru Kenyatta has no elections: to secure his legacy, he must rein in party disrespect," he tweeted.
Uhuru has in the past warned leaders against engaging in early campaigns. The president had vowed not to tolerate politics of division at the expense of development.
