Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung'wa has launched a scathing attack on Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang'i and his Principal Secretary Karanja Kibicho following the alleged closure of Deputy President William Ruto's residence in Mombasa.
Speaking during the official opening of African Gospel Church (A.G.C) Olerai Bethel Sanctuary, Olerai, Narok West, Narok County on Sunday, Ichung'wa told Ruto not to worry.
He reminded him that the 'hustler nation' has bedrooms for him. He dared Matiang'i and Kibicho to give the house to ODM leader Raila Odinga.
"I want to encourage you that even if they close the house of the Deputy President in Mombasa or even Karen do not worry. Just persevere, these hustlers you see here and millions of others have houses all over Kenya with bedrooms and they have kept the bedrooms for you in their houses. Tell Kibicho and Matiang'i to give the house to Tinga."
"(Nataka tu nikutie nguvu ya kwamba wakifunga nyumba ya naibu wa rais iwe ya Mombasa hata wafunge ya Karen, wewe usijali vumilia tu hawa hawa mahustler wote unaona hapa na mamilioni ya mahustler Kenya nzima wako na bedrooms na wamekuweka kwa nyumba zao uende ulale kwa nyumba zao Ambia Kibicho and Matiangi wapee Tinga)," he said.
Government spokesperson Col (Rtd) Cyrus Oguna when asked to comment on the matter said it is not his view of discussion.
“There are more critical issues to be addressed and that to me is a non-issue. Whether the DP is moving in today or tomorrow in my view is not an area of discussion. I would have hoped you asked me about the rains which have subsided or the locusts’ issue. There are very critical things you can focus on,” Oguna said.
