Renowned city lawyer and political analyst Steve Ogolla has come to the defence of Chris Odhiambo popularly known as DJ Kriss Darlin.
This comes after the DJ knelt before ODM leader Raila Odinga to seek blessings ahead of the party's Kibra nomination set for Saturday.
In a Twitter post on Monday, Ogolla claimed that Kriss Darlin's action was motivated by the fact that Raila politically commands a large number of Kibra residents.
"KRISS DARLING is a moral witness to the present reality that Baba commands a near-fanatical following in Kibra. Until voters alter their loyalty, Raila Odinga's word will almost always be final. Pretending to shade liberal tears over Kriss' manoeuvre, is to deny the reality," tweeted Ogolla.
The popular DJ stole the show on Sunday when the 24 ODM aspirants were being unveiled.
“I have heard that there are many young men in Parliament fighting Baba (Raila), allow me as their fellow youth to go fight them in there as you wait to fight in 2022,” Kriss said as he kneeled before Raila.
The Kibra seat was declared vacant after the demise of Ken Okoth who succumbed to cancer.
Raila has, however, noted that the party will not issue any direct ticket, adding that the primaries will be held on August 31, 2019.
The race is expected to be competitive as Jubilee will also field a candidate.
