Bahati Member of Parliament Kimani Ngunjiri has been the latest politician to doubt the ability of a parliamentary system to solve the nation's leadership and political problems.
This comes amid hints that the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) task force will propose the same in its report, as it gives its list of solutions to the nation's leadership problems.
The MP says that the nation could land into more problems should there be amendments to entrust the parliament with the job of electing the executive.
He claimed that the parliament consists some persons with credibility issues, who cannot be entrusted with the role of electing a President or Prime Minister on behalf of Kenyans.
He said that some "have credibility issues and could not be trusted to deliver the will of citizens in electing a president, prime minister and deputy prime minister on behalf of Kenyans.”
He made the remarks in Friday in Nakuru, where he urged MPs to off the debate should the taskforce propose a reintroduction of the parliamentary system.
He added that this way, Kenyans will have the ample time to look into proposals without being coerced and directed on the direction to take.
Already, the BBI is under bashing a from allies of Deputy President William Ruto, who have vowed to reject attempts to amend the constitution.
