The all-time greatest marathoner Eliud Kipchoge is an inspiration to many. However, the hero started life from the lowest point. Before venturing into running, Eliud Kipchoge used to sell meat and milk using his mother's bicycle.
Dairy farming being one of the main activities in his Kapsisisywa village, the volleyballer turned marathoner, was right to try out the business.
Despite his humble beginning, the marathon World Record holder has risen against all odds and is trying to make history that, if achieved, will take decades to break.
On Saturday in Vienna, Austria, Kipchoge will take part in the INEOS 1:59 Challenge that aims to see the first human being run marathon below two hours.
“The pressure is everywhere in this world so long as you're a human being. I'm handling it by staying as calm as possible. It means a lot to my country and Africa. No one sets the limit in life. It's all in the mind,” Kipchoge said as reported by Standard.
He has promised to emulate history makers and pull a first in Austria.
“To run in Berlin and Vienna are two different things. Berlin is running and breaking a world record. Vienna is running and making history. Just like the first man to go to the moon,” he added.
