The 27-year-old mother of two publicly declared her HIV positive status in 2017, and since then she has come to be known for inspirational messages and posts on social media and mainstream media related to the virus.

“Honestly, I have been so fortunate enough to learn from all of you since May of 2017, the love, passion, scandals, wrangles, doubts, hate and name-calling over here, have been worth it,” she said.

She said she hopes she inspired many people since the first day she come out to declare her status in public.

“I truly hope that you have learned enough from me on matters HIV. Me quitting means I will no longer accept any more media interviews, the last one I had was with Grace Msalame on unscripted, which aired last Saturday on NTV. I trust God to guide me on the way forward from here. I am truly indebted to all of you guys who have fought for me in one way or the other, salute!” said Awiti.
