The party has dispatched a delegation of influential politicians including party leader Raila Odinga to campaign for its candidate Imran Okoth.

Aladwa, who is also the Makadara MP, said that the party will be willing to accept defeat should Imran be floored in the race, for the sake of peace and calm in the constituency.

"If defeated ODM will accept because that is a common thing in politics. There must be a winner and one who doesn't accept defeat is not a competitor (ODM ikishindwa tutakubali kwa sababu hiyo ni kawaida ya siasa. Lazima mshindi apatikane na asiyekubali kushindwa si mshindani)," he said.

The former city mayor made the remarks on Radio Jambo's Mazungumzo Waziwazi show on Saturday morning.

However, he expressed confidence in a win, predicting that Imran will succeed in clinching the position left vacant after the death of his brother Ken Okoth in July.

He said that being the chairman of Imran's campaigns, he has heard on the ground that the masses are in favour of Imran, predicting a landslide victory for the Orange party.

"I am down there with the citizens and I have information that ODM will win with a huge margin (Mimi niko huko na wananchi na naskia mambo. ODM itashinda vikubwa sana )," he added.

Also in the race are 23 other candidates, among them McDonald Mariga (Jubilee Party), Eliud Owalo (ANC) and Khamisi Butichi (Ford-Kenya).
