Cheragan'y MP Joshua Kutuny has called for the resignation of the Agriculture CS Mwangi Kiunjuri over what he termed as shady deals
Speaking at Parliament buildings on Wednesday, the MP claimed that he had enough evidence to prove that the Ministry of Agriculture had paid a shady firm Sh1.8 billion out of a total of the Sh4 billion meant to buy maize from local farmers.
This, he said, happened against advice from the concerned Parliamentary committee.
"Tuna ushaidi ya kutosha ya kuonyesha kuwa waziri alivunja sheria, na alienda kinyume na ushauri ya tahasisi hii, na kampuni ambayo inaitwa Commodity House imeweza kulipwa billioni moja nukta nane, bila sheria kufwatwa." (We have enough evidence to show that the CS broke the law by paying a company only known as Commodity House a total of Sh1.8billion, against the advice of this committee and without regard to the law)," noted the MP.
(Pesa hii ni baadhi ya pesa ambayo imetengwa kununua mahindi mwaka huu," (This is part of funds set aside to procure maize this year), he added.
Kutuny was flanked with among others Silas Tiren (Moiben), Robert Pukose (Endebess, Caleb Amisi (Saboti) and Nandi Hills' Alfred Keter.
