According to Ahmednasir the Standard Media has been running political wars instead of being objective.

He said he will no longer purchase the hard copy of the paper, arguing that it's selling Mr Moi's agendas.

"Should we be buying a newspaper used by its owner(Hon Sen Gidi) to fight his political wars in the most underhand manner? I dont think so...I will not," he said

In an article, the Standard claimed that Ruto was blocked from accessing State House, a claim he has since denied.

Dr. Ruto accused the paper of running propaganda, adding that he was not anywhere close to Mombasa during the Thursday's event.

"Kenyans should ignore this choreographed, paid-for propaganda nonsense," Ruto said in a tweet. He added "I was in the office the whole day never in Mombasa."

Dr. Ruto has been at loggerheads with a section of workers from Office of the President, although he has not publicly complained.

Divisions have rocked the Jubilee party for two years now, although the DP has often insisted that the party is intact.
