Mr Murathe has been moving around Mt Kenya region pushing for rejection of Deputy President William Ruto, who has intensified quest to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta.

On Saturday, Murathe claimed that only ODM leader Raila Odinga can stop deputy President William Ruto from ascending to power, ruling out Moses Wetangula and Musalia Mudavadi.

“If there is somebody who can stop that guy (Ruto) from becoming President, it is the former Prime Minister. There is nobody else,” said Murathe, adding: “Our main aim is to make sure that person (Ruto) does not become President because if he does we are all finished”.

The two leaders from Western Kenya have also positioned themselves to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta, and have intensified campaigns across Kenya.

But Mr Khalwale, a close ally of DP William Ruto, now says Murathe's statement is an indication that Mr Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta cannot support the two leaders.

"I've consistently told presidential aspirants @MusaliaMudavadi & @Wetangulam that they aren't in the Kenya Dynasties' scheme of things. Congratulations David Murathe for confirming that 2022 it is the much anticipated Hustlers/Dynasties duel of @WilliamsRuto v @RailaOdinga," he said.

Murathe is a close ally of President Uhuru Kenyatta. He has been moving around the country popularising the Handshake between Uhuru and Raila.

Dr Khalwale believes that Luhya people in presidential race should quit and support someone else so that they can secure Deputy President post.
