An opposition allied legislator has called for tolerance among leaders attending public forums organised to discuss the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report.
Kitutu Chache South MP Richard Onyonka while speaking on Friday during Kisii High School Old Boys Association founder's day and fundraising to support the construction of the institution's Tuition Complex pointed out that politicians should keep off playing dirty politics at public forums.
"As politicians we should play politics where the public should be given an opportunity to give their views. I urge my colleagues attending BBI forums to shun politics and give Kenyans an opportunity to air their views in regards to the BBI report," said Onyonka.
Onyonka accused a section of leaders from Kisii who failed to attend the BBI public forum two weeks ago at Gusii stadium saying the leaders are selfish.
The vocal lawmaker further claimed that 2022 succession politics have created divisions in the country.
"It is sad that leaders have opted to isolate themselves from others because of the 2022 succession politics. Kisii residents will decide through the ballot on who should be the next county boss," he added.
