A viral video of a man counting people in the Nairobi CBD has emerged.
In the video shared online by Joe W Muchiri on Thursday, the man can be seen physically counting passers-by as he cautions them against disturbing him.
“Please census has begun and I don’t want anyone to disturb me when counting. One, two, three, four. I don’t want anyone to disturb, the census has begun. (Tafadhali census imeanza na sitaki mtu anisumbue kuhesabu. One, two, three, four. Staki mtu anisumbue, census imeanza),” he said.
Interestingly, the man didn't lose count even after letting a few heads pass without counting.
People have come out through various social media platforms to make funny videos of the forthcoming national census.
Things got interesting about the census when the Interior Cabinet Secretary came out to announce that all bars should be closed during the night of census so that people can be counting from their homes.
Many came out to light up the internet with their various funny memes objecting the ban of people going out over the census weekend.
This made the government push school opening dates by a week ahead.
The national census is meant to estimate the total number of people in the country which is done every after five years.
This helps the government plan for many things including its budget.
