In a tweet, Mutua said that the unmasking of the rot that the Maasai Mara University has revealed a Pandora of the dark secrets of the things that transpire in the institution of learning.

He said that Maasai Mara and other institutions of learning are no longer relevant because they have been turned into money-making schemes.

According to him, looting and presentation of students with fake degrees are among the aspects that characterize these institutions of learning.

“The Maasai Mara University “Heist Story” proves that “ethnic universities” are nothing but kiosks for public looting and fake degrees. Close them down and let’s return to a system of only reputable national universities @citizentvkenya @KoinangeJeff @ProfMagoha @DonaldBKipkorir,” he tweeted.

On Monday, Vice-Chancellor of Maasai Mara University Prof Mary Walingo came forth to shed more light on the rot at the institution.

She admitted that it has not been easy on her part consulting the evil-minded persons in her staff. She noted that she has tried her best to fight graft while in power but reiterated that she was yet to get a breakthrough before the expose.

"I would like to take this chance to thank Citizen TV for highlighting the damning heist at the Maasai Mara University. It helps in the daunting task that I have been undertaking to read the University of the deceptive and gluttonous individuals who have been looting from the university gofers for a while now,” she said in part.
