Former Harambee Stars forward and governing Jubilee's candidate in the Kibra by-election McDonald Mariga has been mocked yet again for his apparent inability to respond to questions from journalists.
Speaking during a campaign for the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) candidate Imran Okoth, the party's secretary general Edwin Sifuna made fun of Mariga for seeking the help Langata Constituency's member of parliament Nixon Korir to answer questions.
"And he is my brother called Wanyama but he is embarrassing himself badly... When asked a question instead of answering it, he seeks the help of Nixon Korir in answering it (Na ni ndugu yangu ambaye anaitwa Wanyama lakini anachoma picha kuchoma... Yeye akiulizwa swali badala ajibu swali anauliza Nixon Korir anajibu yeye), " the ODM secretary general said. (34:50- 35:05)
The former Inter Milan footballer has struggled to express himself with confidence and clarity, turning him into the butt of online jokes.
His apparent lack of the gift of the gab has led many to cast aspersions on his ability to articulate the issues that the residents are grappling with should he by any chance be elected member of parliament.
A section of Kenyans have defended him, saying that he will gain confidence and become even more articulate as time goes by.
