A 19-year-old boy, Dennis Akosa has been recruited into the militia group Al-Shabab after his boss took him to Somalia from Nairobi.
Speaking to journalists form Lugari, the boy’s mother Sara Khamalwa said that her son had left the village in early February to find what to do in Nairobi where he was working as a house help.
She said that when he called him, he boy said that he has signed a 20 years contract with the terror group, the National security threat, and that he will only come home after the years elapse.
“My child left the village saying that he is going to find a hustle in Nairobi, so when he was hustling in Nairobi his boss has taken him to Somalia. And when I called him the previous day, he said he had signed a twenty years contract with the al-Shabaab,” said the mother.
Sara also added that she had gone through hard times to raise her children without the help of anyone hoping that the boy will come to help her.
Sadly, according to the mother, when the boy should be taking care of her, he has joined the militia.
“I am stringed what to do and I have nobody at home. I have raised my children as a hustler without anybody’s help and when he has reached a level that he should help me, he joins the al-Shabaab,” said the mother.
