A young man shocked many when he breached the presidential security during Madaraka Day celebrations in Nakuru's Afraha Stadium.
The 19-year-old Dickens Otieno was apprehended and grilled at Nakuru CID offices after he walked straight to the dais and whispered into the president's ear.
He told the police that he was a student and had only travelled from Nairobi to attend the ceremony with the mission of meeting the President.
Otieno requested President Uhuru Kenyatta to pay his school fees as he was interested in enrolling for a Sales and Marketing course at a university but his efforts to get assistance from the community had not come to fruition.
Nakuru County CID boss Gideon Kibunja confirmed the same and noted that the teenager had taken advantage the moment the gates were opened for people enter and sit in the field before he walked swiftly to the president.
"He greeted the president and handed him a note bearing his personal details before he was whisked away by security officers," said Kibunja
He was later released after it was established he had no bad intentions although the presidential security was concerned that such a breach of security could happen at an event as that.
