Former Yatta MP Francis Mwangangi has said that Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga is out to mock his Wiper counterpart Kalonzo Musyoka, judging by his latest actions.
Speaking on Wednesday during an interview on Radio Citizen's Pata Shika show, the politician argued that this is the main reason behind Raila's decision to mobilise three Ukambani governors who have been in bad terms with Kalonzo, to participate in ODM campaigns in Kibra on Sunday.
He said that Raila is done with the Wiper party and is now trying to demonstrate that he can always acquire new allies.
"By mobilising the three Ukambani governors, Raila is sending a message to Kalonzo that you can stay with your Wiper, I have other people I can use (Kuleta wale magavana watatu kutoka Ukambani ilikuwa message kwa Kalonzo kuwa baki na Wiper yako, mimi niko na wengine naweza kutumia)," he said.
Mwangangi termed the former prime minister a man who thrives on using and dumping his allies, citing the current situation where Raila appears to have fallen out with the National Super Alliance (NASA) co-principals who backed his 2017 bid.
"It's Raila's habit to use and dump (Raila kawaida yake anatumia na kutupa)," he added.
He further argued that the Kibra move was just for mockery purposes, as Raila is well aware that Charity Ngilu (Kitui) Alfred Mutua (Machakos) and Kivutha Kibwana (Makueni) don't enjoy any notable support in Ukambani. The former lawmaker said the case is also the same with Kirinyanga Governor Anne Waiguru in the Mt Kenya region.
"You cannot tell me that of all the people in Central Kenya, Waiguru is the region's spokesperson. In Eastern, the three are nowhere near the Kamba leadership (Huwezi niambia kati ya watu wote mkoa wa kati yule ambaye anaongelea eneo hilo ni Waiguru. Wale watatu pale Eastern wako mbali sana na uongozi wa jamii ya Wakamba)," he added.
Waiguru and Nominated MP Maina Kamanda are among Jubilee Party members who campaigned for ODM's Imran Okoth in Kibra.
