Speaking during the fifth edition of the Tobung' Lore cultural festival in Lodwar, Raila said that the proposals are dead on arrival.

He noted the Former Presidential candidate has good ideas but he is missing some critical aspects needed for better leadership of this nation following disputes in past general elections.

He said that Aukot’s push for the creation of the wards as central units of power, cutting costs and strengthening devolution is in order but Kenyans need more than that.

He noted that Kenyans have been facing a series of challenges and the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) has been embraced to ensure the issues are discussed to exhaustion before the way forward can be determined in the long run.

"Kenyans are facing many challenges that we know can't be solved through Punguza Mizigo. All we are waiting for is the BBI report so that we can go for a referendum in accordance with our recommendations," he said in Lodwar town, Turkana County, as quoted by Daily Nation.

He further asked Kenyans to support the handshake for the sake of their economic growth. He reiterated that he is committed to working with President Kenyatta as he seeks to leave behind a legacy before the completion of his second and final term in power.
