De Mathew whose real name is John Ng'ang'a lost his life in an accident along Thika Road on Sunday, after his Nissan Navara Double cab vehicle rammed into a trailer.

And with Uhuru apparently set to attend his burial on Saturday, Ndolo wants him to put his presidential cap aside for a moment and give the departed singer a notable honour.

In a tweet Friday, he reminded the Head of State that the later had always stood by home even at his darkest hour, and deserved the same in return now that he is no more.

"I urge President Uhuru tomorrow to forget about formality and decorum, own this artist who loved you and went the extra mile in your darkest hour. Stand by his family, no pretense no acting...just be so real and so there. IfkiePlezdent. #RIPjohnDemathew," wrote the human rights advocate.

De'Mathew met his death while coming from a fundraiser towards the treatment of the child of former musician Peter Kigia Wa Esther in Gatanga.

Before his death, he had a drink with fellow star Mike Rua, with whom they had attended the harambee. He was a native of Mukurweini in Muranga county.
