Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino is set to be arraigned in court on Monday after he was arrested for allegedly shooting a DJ at a high-end Nairobi club.
According to Kilimani OCPD Lucas Ogara, the police have done enough investigations to charge the legislator.
Owino is alleged to have shot Felix Orinda popularly known as Dj Evolve on Friday morning at B Club in Kilimani.
It is not yet clear as to what led to the shooting but latest reports indicate that the victim was shot twice in the neck.
Owino was among those who rushed Dj Evolve to Nairobi Hospital for treatment.
He was arrested at the hospital and taken to Kilimani Police Station and later transferred to Gigiri Police Station on Saturday.
Johanes Orinda, the father of the Dj who was shot, claimed that his son was out of danger but was quick to add that he had not made full recovery yet.
“He can barely speak. He cannot even move his hands,” Orinda stated.
“He can only move his head, he cannot move his lower body yet,” he added.
Dj Evolve underwent a surgery on Friday night to remove the bullets which were lodged in his neck.
According to Owino's lawyer Cliff Ombetta, the MP was remorseful and as a result he offered to pay the hospital bill.
Ombetta also added that the condition of Dj Evolve will play a key role in determining the charges to be pressed against the MP.
