The Wiper Democratic Movement (WDM) party is in talks with the independence KANU party for a possible alliance ahead of the 2022 general elections, an insider has said.
According to Machakos Senator Enoch Wambua, Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka and Baringo Senator Gideon Moi are in talks and their alliance will form the next government.
Speaking in Ngata, Nakuru on Sunday, he said the same is the only alliance talks Kalonzo is involved in currently, terming Moi as a honest leader who can be relied on.
“It is true that Kalonzo and Senator Moi are talking. They will form the next government,” said the senator, who has lately been seen to be very close to Kalonzo.
He spoke during the burial of the Ceciliah Chelangat, mother to Moi's personal assistant Kenneth Mibei.
In an apparent reference to earlier claims that Kalonzo could join hands with Deputy President William Ruto, also from the Rift Valley, he suggested that there are no such discussions.
“It should go on record that we are aware of the talks between Senator Moi and Kalonzo. We are not aware of other talks,” he added.
Kalonzo has personally come out to rule out chances of working with Ruto, who is also eyeing the presidency, terming those linking him to the DP as people out to destroy his relationship with President Uhuru Kenyatta.
